The closed forested canopy and protected wetlands that are a community valued asset of the North Boundary Greenway Trail and adjacent to the BORCE are under threat to clear cutting and other destructive disturbance.  On Tuesday evening, March 1, at 6-PM, during a work session, Oak Ridge City Staff will present options to facilitate increased power to the Horizon Center.  It is expected that their analysis will strongly recommend an option that involves clear cutting closed forested canopy along the North Boundary Greenway including disturbance to wetland areas.  Other, less destructive options exist including extending the Right of Way (ROW) along the existing TVA power line corridor.  Our Greenways Have Value and need to be protected!  WRITE NOW.
