TCWP is concerned about the spread of mountaintop removal coal mining (aka crossridge mining) in our State. These photos show forest/mountain devastation, barren “reclaimed” areas, and erosion caused by mining operations at Zeb Mountain in Campbell County. Erosion has resulted in pollution of Dan Branch and fines imposed by TDEC on the mining company. TVA is evaluating mining of additional mountain areas, including mountains within Royal Blue Wildlife Management Area.
