While most of us are home under a safer-at-home order, there’s no better time to tackle the yard and control those invasive plants. Plants like Honeysuckle Vine, Bush Honeysuckle, Privet, Mimosa, and Tree of Heaven (Ailanthus) may be creeping up along the borders of your yard from wooded areas. In addition, some of your ornamental plants may have gotten out of control and may be spreading into areas where they shouldn’t. These could include plants such as English Ivy, Burning Bush, Winter Creeper, Periwinkle, and Chinese and Japanese Wisteria. Now is a perfect time to control their spread of these plants or remove them altogether.

Not sure which plants are invasive and which aren’t? The Tennessee Invasive Plant Council’s website is a good place to get started.
